Welcome to Osprey Initiative! We are excited to be working with so many great partners to help reduce the amount of plastic we use and to keep our rivers and oceans clean of debris. We are a boutique environmental consultant and contractor. In 2017, we began working on an economical, tactical solution to collect stormwater conveyed litter in Mobile, AL.

Our patented “Litter Gitter” is a small-stream collection device designed to intercept floating litter from stormwater runoff. We have three models available and our staff builds and installs the devices based on anticipated stormwater flow. We also maintain our devices and adhere to stringent environmental standards in the field as we collect, measure and separate all vegetative debris, trash and recyclables from our devices. All data is recorded and we provide a profile of the litter source to our clients. Our results have been impressive with 80+% capture of floatable stormwater conveyed litter at our sites.

Please note there are federal, state and local regulations and requirements related to working in and around our waterways. Osprey Initiative works with the applicable regulatory entities to ensure proper permitting is acquired and adhered to throughout the duration of our projects.

Due to the dynamic nature of our waterways and the critical habitats and wildlife potentially impacted, we ask YOU to make sure proper authorities are consulted and actions are taken prior to installing any devices in our waterways. See y’all on the water!
