Osprey Receives Small Business Environmental Stewardship Award

Osprey Initiative was recognized by the Baldwin County Environmental Advisory Committee with the Small Business Environmental Stewardship Award.

The Baldwin County Environmental Advisory Committee recently recognized both individuals and businesses for their environmental leadership and stewardship of Baldwin County’s natural resources.

The Annual Environmental Awards Program, started in 1998 through the Baldwin County Commission, has recognized over 80 individuals and businesses. This year awards were given in the following categories: Individual Citizens, Small Business, Large Business, Environmental Organization, Educational Program, Government Agency, Student Initiative, and Agriculture/Forestry.

Osprey Initiative started in South Alabama with a few small projects just six years ago and has now grown to more than 12 states in the U.S. and two additional countries! We use our patented technology to collect data to determine sources and develop and implement solutions to tackle the challenges posed by floating litter.

What We Offer

The patented Litter Gitter is a tactical in-stream litter collection device used to intercept floating litter from stormwater runoff. The Osprey team handles all aspects of installing and maintaining these “trash traps” and compiles data on the items caught in them, recycling as much of the litter as possible.
