Pure River Plastic Recycling Drop-Off

How much litter are we removing from our waters? See for yourself!

We delivered over 40 super sacks of pure river plastic to the Mobile County Recycling Center to be baled and shipped to a specialty materials client in New Jersey. All of these bottles came straight out of rivers during our cleanups over the past few months. (For reference: one super sack holds an average of 60 pounds!)

If it weren’t for our partners, this plastic would still be in our waterways. Thank you Mobile Bay National Estuary Program, Mobile Baykeeper, Dog River Clearwater Revival, Freshwater Land Trust, City of Mobile, Black Warrior Riverkeeper, Cahaba Riverkeeper, City of Birmingham Government, Catawba Riverkeeper Foundation, Envision Charlotte, City of Foley Municipal Government, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, City of Pensacola Government, City of Decatur, Alabama – Government, Lake Pontchartrain Basin Foundation, Groundwork Atlanta, River Network, Daphne Utilities, Chattahoochee Riverkeeper, Tennessee Riverkeeper, The Nature Conservancy in Alabama, Coca-Cola Consolidated, Coca-Cola North America, Ranger Environmental Services, LLC. and Kim Landry Coates – Parish Council District 10!

What We Offer

The patented Litter Gitter is a tactical in-stream litter collection device used to intercept floating litter from stormwater runoff. The Osprey team handles all aspects of installing and maintaining these “trash traps” and compiles data on the items caught in them, recycling as much of the litter as possible.
