Derrick Cook serves as a Special Projects Lead at Osprey Initiative, where he helps with planning, training, scouting, and traveling for field projects and recycling events. With a welding background from Bishop State Community College, Derrick brings a strong work ethic and hands-on experience to every task.
Derrick started working full time in 2023 and enjoys working at Osprey because it combines purpose with adventure—keeping communities clean, learning something new every day, and having fun along the way. From surprising finds like a rubber zombie torso to helping protect wildlife from harmful litter, Derrick is passionate about the real impact this work has on the environment. In his downtime, he enjoys sports, fixing things, gaming, and catching some well-earned rest.
