Osprey Initiative was recently awarded with the Partnership Award in the 2022 Alabama PALS Governer’s Award Program.
The Alabama PALS (People Against A Littered State) Governor’s Award Program recognizes volunteers and organizations who give their time, talents, and resources to help provide programs that create a cleaner and more beautiful Alabama.
Awards are given each year to individuals and groups in categories such as Media, Adopt-A-Mile, Volunteer of the Year, City, County, Judicial, County Commissions, Law Enforcement, and Litter Education.
The Osprey Initiative team works with PALS on various programs to reduce the challenges posed by floating litter in our waterways. Osprey continues to coordinate recycling at various locations for the annual Alabama Coastal Cleanup. The team also partners with Coca-Cola United on event recycling, which includes concerts, sporting events, and more.
The Osprey team accepting the award at the reception included Don Bates, Osprey Owner/President, and Regional Field Leaders, Jack Bates and Mitch Lowe. The Osprey Initiative mission is made possible through the support of our committed partners and volunteers, all of whom we cannot thank enough.
Alabama PALS is a 501(c)3 nonprofit statewide organization dedicated to providing and implementing anti-litter programs for all Alabama counties, cities, communities, schools and other groups striving to enhance their environmental and economic impact through a litter free, cleaner and more beautiful environment.
Osprey Initiative started in South Alabama with a few small projects just six years ago and has now grown to more than 40 sites across the United States and two additional countries! We use our patented technology to collect data to determine sources and develop and implement solutions to tackle the challenges posed by floating litter.
